Cleaning Chiswick – Mission Possible

On September 16th, 2012 By

A recent report which revealed that Chiswick is one of the dirtiest areas in London made the Council to invest a great amount of money for cleaning equipment such as sweepers.

The Hounslow Council is going to spend £300,000 to buy new cleaning technique and hire additional cleaners in order to return the good look of the area. Chiswick is amongst the boroughs which have huge problems with fly-tipping and illegal waste disposal. Besides the street cleaning services didn’t provide the required quality which made the problem even worse.

A new contractor starts cleaning the Chiswick streets in January next year. The equipment that was bought consists of 6 new sweepers. 18 street cleaners have been hired and a campaign against fly-posting will be started. The Council wants to remind people that we are the ones to take care of our borough. Start disposing properly the litter otherwise you may get a fine.
