Are Men and Women Getting Equal?

On March 13th, 2012 By

The question about the equal rights and obligations of men and women is still very discussed. Especially after the proposal of the United Kingdom’s Prime Minister for tax relief for the working women.

David Cameron’s idea is that mothers who now stay at home to take care of the children and the household, will be able to go to work as small part of their taxes will be used for expanses such as cleaning and babysitting. Thus women will start making more money and will be able to feel equal with their partners.

The truth is that according latest research men who do more house work than their wives are more than those who evenly separate the household tasks. Only one of ten men who are married help their wives with the chores such as cleaning, cooking, doing the laundry, etc. But still the statistics show an increase and it is thought that in several years ahead, there will be more men dealing with those tasks.

Another surprising fact is that the biggest part of the working women spend more than 7 hours a week cleaning and handling household chores. This according to the experts is a lot considering that a normal working day is 8 hours long.
