If your morning coffee is the key to a successful day, then you should know how to clean a coffee maker. Try out these tips and green cleaning recipes and stop having bad tasting coffee.
Your coffee machine is one of your best friends. It gives you a cup of warm and delicious coffee that touches all your senses. But, when it needs cleaning, it is your turn to do something.
Do not panic, not yet. Turn off the coffee maker and wipe the coffee you spilled on the couch, because it tasted like mud. Call sofa cleaning provider if there is a large spill. The coffee maker, you can clean by yourself.
Step 1 – Remove all left over coffee and empty the containers – the water container, the filter, the basket, coffee ground, every thing that can be taken off.
Step 2 – Clean all the parts you have removed. Rinse them with cold water.
Step 3 – Green cleaning. Take a bottle of white distilled vinegar. Safe a bit for sofa cleaning, and make a solution of 2 parts water and one part vinegar.
Step 4 – Fill the water container reservoir with the solution. Turn the coffee maker on and brew a cup or two, until the whole solution drains down. Turn off the coffee maker.
Step 5 – Remove all excess vinegar by brewing only water several times until there is no evident sour smell.
There are cases of mould and mildew found in old coffee makers. Then your cleaning solution should include some salt. Mix it well with the water and vinegar and rinse it thoroughly afterwards, if you do not want to drink salty coffee.
Enjoy a cup of hot aromatic coffee. Keep your coffee maker in good shape, clean it monthly, and you can have wonderful cup of coffee at any time.
