When your silver becomes dull, no matter if it is your precious chain or necklace or even silver cutlery, cleaning is the solution. It will give you a peace of mind when you know that no harsh chemicals will be used, so your skin and health won’t be affected. It is not like sofa cleaning when dry cleaning is involved and chemicals, too.
Tip 1: When the silver jewelery is tarnished, don’t start with the silver polish, it will scrub the upper layer and lead to more damage instead. It may break down into pieces when it gets thinner.
Tip 2: Here is the recipe. You need warm water, one aluminum plate, some baking soda and salt. In case you have no aluminum plate, cover a regular one with foil. Then make a solution of 1 tablespoon soda and one tablespoon salt. Let them dissolve well in the water, stir well. Put the silver item in the solution.
Tip 3: The solution is quite strong, so result will be immediate, but don’t leave it for too long. If it is decorated with precious stones, you should have it professionally polished. Don’t risk damaging the stones.
