Soil and Grime Really Kill Your Carpets

On May 1st, 2012 By

carpet cleaning and health factsWhy clean carpets regularly? Soil and dirt hide inside the carpet fibers. If the carpeting is not cleaned grit stays trapped in-between the fibers. This can cut carpet’s life drastically, according to the National Carpet Cleaners Association.

Carpets and soft furnishing have to be cleaned in accordance with the standard set by the professionals in the field. There is a good reason to maintain the cleanliness of carpets. Deep cleaning is a necessity and should be done every two years.

The main reason is appearance. If a carpet is not in good condition, it shows, it is obvious and guests notice it. An old dusty carpet does not give the same impression as when it was newly bought.

Fibres last longer when they are maintained effectively. NCCA recommend regular vacuuming to eliminate dust mites, pathogenic organisms and other pollutants. Clean carpet fibres contribute to clean healthy indoor air.

Carpet cleaning will remove bad odours caused by spills and pollutants. Best method is using a spray deodorant to mask the odour, after a thorough vacuum cleaning. Stains are removed effectively when dry cleaning is applied.

NCCA advise all carpet owners to never allow dirt trap inside carpet fibres. It is indoor pollution that can lead to respiratory problems and ruin the carpet.
